To all Wolf Watch UK members, May I wish you a very HAPPY and HEALTHY 2026.
4 January 2026
This is our 40th year of keeping Wolves!
Stretching over this period we have taken in 37 Wolves. They have arrived here for a variety of reasons often resulting from Dominance fights, Zoo closures or Excess breeding, along with circumstances where their situation has become untenable.
Wolf Watch then became their home and final resting place.
Age groups ranging from 10 days to almost 10 years, with varying degrees of socialisation, have landed on our doorstep, all of which provided us with a challenge that time and understanding translated into experience.
Breeding Wolves has never been part of our rescue program, as I believe that we could then become part of the problem rather than the solution.
Our journey has taken us into the company of many legendary wildlife supporting characters who have endorsed our project and helped us in many ways.
However, whilst we are tiny in comparison to their achievements, some of the greatest pleasures have come from sharing what we do here with likeminded people.
People like yourselves who have a love and respect for this chosen animal, joined membership visits to Wolf Watch and created a forum where information and experiences can be enjoyed by all concerned.
As mentioned, our group is relatively small and along with myself a small number of volunteers contribute to its management and I would like to thank them for their invaluable help.
May I also offer a ' Big Thank You ' to those of you who have donated funds that have helped us develop better enclosures and environments for the Wolves. We are very grateful.
Best Wishes
Tony Haighway
