The Pack

Anja

Anja was born on 27th April 2012 and arrived from Paradise Wildlife Park, Broxbourne in 2015. She is a lovely natured European Wolf from Norway and had been involved in dominance skirmishes with her siblings who remained at the park.

An unusual feature of her diet at the park included daily titbits of tinned sardines! The practice involves the tapping of two sardine tines together until she decides to make an appearance. A cautious approach follows after which she gently takes the fishy morsels, licking the oily bits from your fingers before retreating to a more distant part of her territory. An interesting experience for the feeder!

Although having had a high degree of socialisation since the age of six weeks she still has a natural ‘flight’ instinct when approached by people who are unfamiliar and often appears to have a nervous disposition especially in adverse weather conditions.

Anja shares her territory with Bosch and the two are frequently spotten haveing play sessions together.

The Pack

Bosch

Bosch is a Grey Wolf and was born on the 11th May 2020.

He arrived at Wolf Watch in January 2021 having come from a private owner whose business was adversely affected by the COVID situation.

He has been well socialised, extremely well cared for and has a delightful nature.

He appears to be quite comfortable around women but is cautious around men he has not met before.

Bosch has settled in nicely and shares his territory with Anja, the two are frequently spotten having play sessions together.

The Pack

Rickon

Rickon is a Norwegian male Wolf who came to Wolf Watch in January 2017 along with his sister Sansa. Both were the result of an unplanned pregnancy from a private collection down in Hertfordshire. The transfer was organised and costs covered courtesy of Paradise Park in the same County.

Rickon is a shy sensitive wolf who is naturally submissive and seemingly defers to Sansa’ leadership in all matters. Nevertheless, a strong bond exists between him and Sansa. Rickon is a good looking male with a quiet nature who prefers to stand back and weigh up a situation rather than dash in to explore it. This being the case it usually means he is second in line when it comes to feeding time.

Sansa

Sansa is a Norwegian female Wolf who came to Wolf Watch in January 2017 along with her brother Rickon. Both were the result of an unplanned pregnancy from a private collection down in Hertfordshire. The transfer was organised and costs covered courtesy of Paradise Park in the same County.

Sansa is a confident animal, the first to dash in and grab food, investigate an unusual occurrence or chase off a raven, kit or buzzard attempting to steal her food.
